Service Standards

It seems to me that most businesses seem to have forgotten the Golden Rule that the customer is King. Most business nowadays pass over individual clients instead choosing to focus more on their corporate clients.

Any business is dependent on the customers patronage whereas they are not obliged to give us their business. Service standards will only go up when companies learn this golden rule. Why spend tons of money wooing others when you can't even retain your current customers.

Many companies now seem to have lost their personal touch. They have forgotten that their customers are only human too and at the end of a frustrating search to solve their various problems, they just want a listening ear that sympathize with them.

Most companies with good customer relations tend to fare better in the long run because they have a loyal base of customers that supports them. They also need not spend alarming amounts of money in promoting themselves as they have a group of free advertisers extolling the virtue of using the companies products. Word of mouth in this industry is a double edged sword and as such must be wielded with finesse. Only then can a company succeed.
