H1N1

Hi guys i know i haven't blogged in along time and i ask for your indulgence as i am and have been busy with a flood of projects.

Anyway what i wanted to share with everyone is the interesting snippet that one of our DEPM year 2 classes have a suspected H1N1 case. And before and of you guys freak out and decide to buy masks or "Pontang" your lesson please note that we are now in the mitigation phase and the student is in a stable condition.

So.... what this means is that you are not likely to be let off classes and life will go on as normal. Besides the regular screening before you even step in the school gates and the twice daily temperature reading nothing is different.

So don't jump for joy and start planning how to spend the 1 week LOA cause it is likely to cause more work to pile up and cause more trouble in the long run. Pray for good health and that the current strain will give us the immunity we might require if a more virulent and deadlier strain of the H1N1 were to come up.

That's all for now! See you soon! Meanwhile keep safe. :-)

The Lost generation

I was reading articles online about mixed race children and adopted Koreans overseas and the discrimination they face. This contrast with what i had in mind of Koreans as a friendly and warm people. I just find it weird that they would discriminate against their own blood.

The bullying that many of these kids faced in Korea is also frequently reported in the media but the government seems to do nothing about it. What's wrong with loving a person of another race or nationality. Why must everything be in terms of benefits. Every country only do things which they might benefit from. I really don't understand why so many governments are so willing to tear apart families just because one of the parent is not likely to contribute much in terms to the development of the country. I know that they are just being cautious of their citizens being used to get citizenship by other people. But i still believe that each case should be given the benefit of the doubt.
